Beatriz Mingo (The Open University - UK), "What can LoTSS teach us about radio AGN?"

The LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) first data release has shed some new light on the energetics and life cycles of radio AGN, challenging some of the existing paradigm. I will describe our recent work on classification of LOFAR radio galaxies, which sheds new light on the the jet-environment interaction and is a cautionary tale about interpreting the results obtained when using automated techniques to classify radio survey data. I will also summarise some of the other key results obtained so far with the survey, and highlight future steps that can help us gain a better understanding on the coevolution of AGN, their hosts, and their large-scale environments.
