Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are millisecond-long radio flashes predominantly originating from cosmological distances, whose origin is still unknown. About 600 FRBs have been observed to date and ~2.5% are known to be repeating sources. A fraction of them has been localized to a host galaxy, and shows a variety of different environments, ranging from active star forming galaxies to passive elliptical ones. Although the commonly accepted FRB progenitors are magnetars, their formation channels and the actual physics behind the event are still a matter of debate. The effort of current (and future) observations is indeed all focused to characterize the properties of the FRB population and their environment, necessary to unveil the nature of their progenitors and their physical mechanism. In this talk I will review the status of the Northern Cross Fast Radio Burst Project, a programme to equip the Northern Cross Radio telescope to observe and characterize the FRB phenomenon. I will present the results obtained so far and give an overview of the future developments
