Dharam Vir Lal (NCRA-TIFR), "State of Coma"

We have used upgraded GMRT, an SKA pathfinder instrument as a testbed to demonstrate the capabilities of wide field, wide band imaging of Coma cluster of galaxies. These images detected more than 100 radio galaxies. We present spatially resolved radio morphologies and spectral structures, and the effect of intra-cluster medium, in particular for a bent radio galaxy, NGC4869. Briefly, we discuss an interplay of this radio source with its hot gas environment: (i) The flaring of a straight, collimated radio jet at the position where it crosses the surface brightness edge in the hot gas, and (ii) the role of Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities on the collimated radio jet on kpc-scales.
