Olga Bayandina (INAF – Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri, FI, Italy), "High-Frequency Horizons: Italian Telescopes in the Era of Big Astronomical Projects"

The Italian radio telescopes are undergoing an important upgrade to high-frequency capabilities, significantly expanding their scientific potential and ensuring their relevance in the era of large-scale astronomical projects. A key feature of this upgrade is the installation of tri-band receivers capable of simultaneous observations in three high-frequency bands, K (18-26 GHz), Q (34-50 GHz), and W (80-116 GHz) - capabilities unmatched by any other European telescopes to date. In this talk, I’ll provide an update on the progress of the project and share the results of preliminary tests of the new receivers. I’ll also highlight the potential of the new receivers by exploring how they can be used to study masers in star-forming regions, showcasing the exciting science the upgrade will make possible.
