Ivan Delvecchio (INAF-OAS Bologna), "(Hot) Dust revealed in Little Red Dots"

Little Red Dots (LRDs) are among the most enigmatic populations discovered by the JWST. The origin of their compactness, X-ray/radio weakness, and V-shaped spectra remains a subject of intense debate. In this talk, I will show recent evidence for hot (~800 K) dust emission in the rest-frame NIR (1-3 um) at a population level. We performed median stacking of NIRCam, MIRI, and ALMA images of a homogeneous sample of LRDs (mostly at redshift 4<z50%) exhibit AGN-heated dust emission, irrespective of what powers their optical/UV continuum. I will discuss the physical implications and some recent models incorporating this hot dust component. I will conclude by discussing future prospects in characterizing the radio emission and dust budget of LRDs with next-generation facilities.
