Yoshiaki Hagiwara (Toyo University), "Sub-millimeter maser and dense molecular gas in active galactic nuclei"
More than 150 extragalactic 22 GHz H2O masers have been found in active galactic nuclei (AGN) and they are known to be a powerful tool for tracing a sub-parsec-scale disc, outflow, or some other dynamics surrounding a central engine. In contrast, the properties of extragalactic sub-millimeter H2O masers have not yet been well studied to date. With sub-mm telescopes such as the ALMA, it would be important to address them. In this talk, the recent results of ALMA observations of sub-millimeter H2O masers towards nearby active galactic nuclei are presented, with those of single-dish monitoring of 22 GHz H2O maser at Tidbinbilla since around 2012.
