Gianni Bernardi (INAF-IRA), "The Fast Radio Burst Northen Cross project: current results and future outlook"
Fast Radio Bursts (RFBs) are enigmatic, ms-long, bright radio flashes whose origina is still debated. More then one hundred FRBs are known so far, essentially all extragalactic but one, from the Galactic magnetar SGR1935+2154, indicating that amgnetars may be FRB progenitors. More observations are, however, needed in order to understand the FRB phenomenon. In this talk I will review the FRB Northern Cross project, an effort to turn the Northern Cross radio telescope into an FRB survey machine. I will describe its current status and future prospects.
